What we collect and what we don’t

Your medication data stays entirely on your device. It is stored in a local SQLite database in your browser and is never sent anywhere — no account, no cloud sync, no third-party access.

To improve the app and keep it free, we do collect a small amount of anonymous, aggregate usage data when you open the app.

Limitations

What MedTrck cannot do

We believe in honest software. Here is what MedTrck is not designed for, and where its technical limitations lie.

⚠️ Know before you use

Data loss risk: Your data lives in your browser’s storage. Clearing browser data, uninstalling the app, or a browser update can permanently erase everything. Export regularly.
🔒
No sync between devices: Data does not sync automatically. To move to a new device, use the manual export/import feature.
🌡️
Reminders require the app open: Push notifications only work if the app has been granted notification permission and is periodically active. Background notifications are browser-dependent.
📋
Not a medical device: MedTrck is a personal log, not a verified medical tool. It cannot replace advice from a physician or pharmacist. Always verify dosages with your healthcare provider.
👥
No caregiver sharing: There is currently no way to share your medication log with a family member or healthcare provider in real time. Export to CSV for sharing.
🔢
No drug interaction checking: MedTrck tracks what you log, but does not verify whether your medications interact with each other. Consult your pharmacist for interaction information.
